3rd Wisdom and AI Summit “Can HUMANITY survive and THRIVE in the age of AI?”
The annual Wisdom 2.0 Conference, the flagship event held in the Bay Area, brings together over 2,500 people from 24 countries. This year, the Wisdom and AI summit was held on May 13-14th, bringing together experts in Artificial Intelligence with leaders in well-being to explore the role of wisdom in the age of AI. Kamal El Watar, the Earth Codes’ founder and Board president, also attended the two-day summit.
“ It was such a privilege to listen to some of the leading thinkers on the confluence of artificial intelligence and wisdom traditions,” said Kamal. One of the memorable talks was “The AI Society is Coming: Are We Ready?” With HANS PETER BRØNDMO, Technologist and Serial Entrepreneur, former manager at Google. It highlighted the critical role that nonprofits like EarthCodes will play since the transition that society faces is not “if” but “when”. And since it is “when”, then we cannot be passive in visualizing the kind of future you want, one where humans and other species continue to thrive within the laws of nature. This is a very exciting time where a sea change can occur that brings us back in harmony. This conference highlights that we are all needed: the scientists, the artists, the dreamers, etc , all while listening to other species and all cultures.”
Mitch Ferguson, Earth Codes’ technical director who also attended the summit, said, “The AI and Wisdom conference offered a refreshing reminder that AI is not just a technical revolution, but a human one; the students’ grounded perspective—that AI is a tool to be understood and used thoughtfully—left me feeling reassured about where we are headed.”
Wisdom 2.0 itself is on the mission to create a community to learn how AI can be of service to our work and life and explore the potential dangers. It addresses the great challenge of our age: to not only live connected to one another through technology, but to do so in ways that are beneficial to our own well-being, effective in our work, and useful to the world. Through the series of conferences, meet-ups, and workshops, Wisdom 2.0 strives to bring this conversation to the world in an accessible, innovative, and inclusive way.
