MY TONGUE. MY RIGHT.

Every language is a world of its own — a unique lens through which people understand medicine, culture, peacebuilding, ecology, and more. At EarthCodes, we believe that every language is a vital thread in the fabric of our shared humanity. When a language disappears, we lose more than words; we lose knowledge, wisdom, and ways of seeing that may hold the key to healing our planet and one another.

“My Tongue. My Right.” is a pilot program whose theory of change is that a vital sea change can happen in people caring about language loss if the stories of respected bilingual “bridge” leaders are told: people who are known in the dominant cultures of the world but are (unknown) bridges to vital indigenous knowledge needed by the whole world. Wherever it makes sense, Artificial Intelligence is used to bring down costs of telling these stories and disseminate them more widely. If the stories gain traction, donations will be directed to respected language revival non-profits like wikitongues.org.
