Upcoming Program
Biomimics Podcast.
Biomimics are translators of the biological codes of life. The millions of species around us hold the keys to our survival. Life evolved over 3.8 billion years on earth and learned to solve almost every known challenge we face today, from creating substitutes for plastic to reversing climate change.
This is the Observatory’s regular conversation with scientists, engineers, artists and entrepreneurs who are innovating based on our elders: the species all around us.
Our work is inspired by and aims to support the Biomimicry Institute through donating content and funds. Please visit their site for more information.
We travel the world to uncover the latest innovations based on nature. We go into the minds and hearts of the professionals and “citizen scientists” who are seeing the world in new ways. These are people who want to learn from and borrow nature’s patterns, not extract.
Listeners get a chance to ask questions and an opportunity to learn more about each species, the “biomimic” who acts as a translator of nature’s knowledge and then even invest in some of the inventions. Closing the loop, the show aims to bring awareness to the conservation of these species upon which we depend by supporting The Biomimicry Institute’s program, I4C (Innovation for Conservation) and AskNature, the only search engine of nature’s knowledge.
